I regret wearing sunscreen today, said nobody ever
My name is Ellie, I’m 21 years old from Manchester. My passions are travelling the world, trying different cuisines and working out in the gym.
I have unfortunately learnt the hard way in my younger years, thinking wearing no sunscreen will help me tan. Let me stop you right there and tell you this isn’t true! There’s nothing worse than sunburn, which damages your skin over time. Additionally, wearing sunscreen through all months of the year I find to be very important. Just because you can’t see the sun doesn’t mean it isn’t there.

My guilty pleasure is a holiday. I love the sun, sand and of course a lovely tan!
I often run and walk as part of my hobbies too. Activities like these require extra care. If I know I will be outdoors for long periods of time, I will use sunscreen before leaving, and bring it with me to top up throughout. This way I maintain my golden glow, but can do it safely.
When I have built up my tan on holiday, I love to use the SPF 15 glow and tan mist to keep me golden for a longer lasting tan.

My biggest secret when it comes to luminous skin is to incorporate sunscreen into my skincare routine. Think of it as doing your makeup, you wouldn’t miss a step of that so why should you with sunscreen? It is a barrier for your skin but also so moisturising. My personal favourite is the Calypso anti age face lotion. It protects my skin whilst giving me a holiday glow feel.

Without sunscreen we would all be at risk of the many skin conditions that are out there! I take pride in my skin as it is part of my appearance too.
My best advice would be to use sunscreen daily, your skin will thank you later in life for it. There’s a reason our mum’s would always coat us in sunscreen, as they’ve been there and experienced the things they don’t want you to.
No matter what age you may be reading this, it’s never too late to stay protected.
