Calypso Kids Sun Lotion SPF50 offers UVA/UVB protection and contains hypoallergenic ingredients that are suitable for children. It is light and non-greasy, with gentle moisturisers that replenish the natural oils lost by exposure to the sun, wind and water. Photostable, the lotion maintains the level of sun protection between applications.

Always apply 20-30 minutes before sun exposure.
Apply generously to all exposed areas and smooth in gently.
Re-apply frequently to maintain protection especially after perspiring, swimming or towelling.
Avoid contact with eyes. If contact does occur, wash with plenty of water.
Discontinue use if signs of irritation or a rash appear.
Ideally do a patch test before use.

Do children need to have sun cream applied more frequently than adults?
Children are more susceptible to UV-related skin damage than adults. We obtain most of our lifetimes sun exposure as children and teenagers. It is known that sunburn during childhood can lead to severe skin damage in later years. You should use a specially formulated high factor product for children, such as our Once a Day SPF40 or our Sensitive Sun Lotion Spray SPF50+ and ensure it is re-applied, especially after swimming and towelling. Ideally, children should be covered up with loose clothes and wide-brimmed hats. Most importantly, children under 6 months should be kept out of direct sunlight.
Why does Calypso not display the UVA star rating on its packaging?
Calypso SPF products meet all UVA and UVB standards and are rigorously tested to ensure their effectiveness. The star rating system was designed by Boots (retailer) and is not recognised as industry standard, nor is it regulated.
The letters "UVA" inside a circle is a European industry standard marking, which is contained on all Calypso products.
Can I use Calypso products during pregnancy?
Yes you can. All ingredients in the Calypso product range have been approved as cosmetic ingredients.

better than other brands
My son seems to be allergic to the main brand sun lotions resulting in him coming out in a rash. I tried Calypso after reading that it is hypoallergenic in a couple of online forum threads. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the price (I was expecting it to be more expensive) so thought it was worth a try. It is without doubt the best sun lotion I have used for my kids. It smells gorgeous, it doesn't have that horrible greasy feeling that most other lotions have and best of all, it doesn't stain clothing. I will definitely be purchasing this again. Yes - I would recommend this to a friend.

Perfect for the people who burn easily...
After trying so many products over the years for my pale freckled skin, this has to be by far the best product. works well on my childrens skin as it crates a nice layer on skin therefore creates a perfect barrier. lasts all day in sun,please do reapply after a swim.

Easy to apply
Bought this for my 8 month old son to wear. Easy to apply, smells lovely that typical suntan coconut smell (reminds me of better days being on holiday lol!) I have never just left him in the blazing sun but he has never returned from walking in his pram or sitting in the shade in the garden red so I would assume it is doing its job!! Not sure how long a tube would last, if I was going away for a week or two I would probably have to take at least 2 of these for peace of mind with regular applications!
