Calypso Scalp Protection SPF30 is specially formulated to provide instant protection for the hair and scalp from harmful UVA and UVB rays. It can be sprayed directly through the hair onto the scalp. The water-resistant,
quick-drying and non-greasy solution provides effective protection for both the scalp and parting.
Most of us know to put on sunscreen to protect our skin from sun damage but we tend to forget about our hair. If your hair has prolonged exposure to the sun, it can lead to discolouration, brittle strands, split ends and frizziness.
If youre suffering from dry or brittle hair then try our
Sun-Sea Hair Protection. It contains Argan Oil to rehydrate your hair as well as UV filters to protect it from the damaging effects of the sun, chlorine and dehydration.
Apply generously onto the scalp or hair.
Allow it to dry before exposure to direct sunlight.
Re-apply frequently, especially after perspiring, swimming or towelling.
Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
Ideally do a patch test before use.
Keep out of reach of children.

Yes, sunscreen is still required. Even when the sky is overcast, UV radiation levels are still at 80% of their normal levels. The temperature can be deceptive - a breeze can keep you cool, but it doesnt affect UV levels. Look up the UV index for your area to make sure youre using protection when you need to be.
We're pleased to say that we don't test any of our products on animals. What's more, we don't buy ingredients that have been tested on animals by another manufacturer. So you can buy Calypso confident in the knowledge that your sun care is cruelty-free.
All our products are suitable for vegetarians. However, some contain ingredients like keratin (made from sheep's wool) or beeswax (made by bees) that vegans may wish to avoid. If you have any questions about animal ingredients, please get in touch.
There are two types of ultraviolet radiation which can harm our skin UVA and UVB. Only UVB causes burning, but both types damage our skin, so good sunscreens should protect against both. However, SPF only measures UVB protection, so you have to check to make sure your sunscreen offers UVA protection too. There are lots of different UVA measuring systems around the world. We use the European standard look for the letters UVA inside a circle. This symbol means that a product meets the EU-recommended level of UVA protection.
Calypso SPF products meet all UVA and UVB standards and are rigorously tested to ensure their effectiveness. The star rating system was designed by Boots (retailer) and is not recognised as industry standard, nor is it regulated.
The letters "UVA" inside a circle is a European industry standard marking, which is contained on all Calypso products.
Yes you can. All ingredients in the Calypso product range have been approved as cosmetic ingredients.
We believe the product will not directly affect dyed hair. However, as there are many types of dye systems, we ask you apply with precaution and to a small part of the head / hair first as a test if possible.
This was great on holiday for me, I had my hair in braids for the majority of my holiday and my scalp never burnt whatsoever! I sprayed it at the recommended distance and my hair never looked oily or greasy. Will buy again next year for my next holiday Yes - I would recommend this to a friend.
